Abby & The Cactus

Abbly loves flowers. When we talke a walk around the block she loves the weeds. We have these beautiful purple weeds in our yards. I'm not sure what they are, but I love them too. And they're weeds. Abs touched a cactus for the first time this weekend. It wasn't a prickly one but a furry one, and she didn't like that. We had to give her a bath, her hands must have hurt, then she rubbed it on her face and got a little reaction from it.

So Abs is still not walking totally, she takes steps and falls. She's doing really well with it. But now she's walking on all 4's, like our dog. She'll have her back bent on her hands and feet. Crazy---I love her so much.

Ode To Sanjaya

The other night we were watching American Idol with Abs and we knew something was missing: it was Sanjaya. She looked like she missed his hair-do's too. But in the picture to the right, bathtime took care of that!

It was great yesterday when I walked into her school she yelled out across the room, "Momma." The sweetest word I could ever hear. I was like "Yes that's my girl." She's so loud just like Mommy. And when Daddy walks in the door after work she yells, "Dad." She's so funny. We were at the grocery store and she's learned to stand up in the cart. Now we have to strap her in. She didn't like that much. She was screaming, I said very calmly to her, "Just keep screaming you're going to be ok." Oh boy she loves those colored balls in the stores. She goes crazy when she sees them.

Abby Speaks

Abby loves brushing her teeth....well at least chewing on the tooth brush! :)
I was in the grocery store yesterday with Abby and she looked at a ball and said "Ball." I was so happy. Now she can't stop saying it! She must have seen the excitement in my eyes and all my yeah's to her. She's becoming a little fussier eater than she was before. I try giving her pieces of a peach and she spits it out or she'll make herself throw up. Where does that come from?? Nanny and Poppy (my parents) were visiting this weekend and they bought Abs her first big girl pair of sneakers. I said please no ties....only velcro. EASY for Mom's and Dad's.

The Amazing Abby!

Abby is saying "bye bye" and Mommy and Daddy are so happy. Although she's still not walking, she'll get it eventually. She stands by herself for 20 seconds now. That's amazing to us. She makes our life so full and happy. She's starting to notice everything and she listens to every word we say. We counted all the teeth in her mouth exploding through---10 at one time and the 11th tooth is showing too. It's crazy, she's cranky at night with it. Can you blame her? This weekend with the nice weather finally, we're hitting the beach. I love her little toesies in the sand. Have a great one :)

An Extra Hug

With everything that happened at Virginia Tech yesterday all I could do is hug and kiss Abby. Realizing she is just a baby, but as a parent I was thinking: we raise these little bundle of joys, guide them and try to teach them right from wrong----how will I teach her about this and ever in a million years ever be prepared for something like this? Hug your kids love your kids and what the heck let's spoil them, too.

Some pictures from Easter
Hope your Easter was great. We had a little Easter Egg Hunt with Abs; plastic eggs with Cheerios in them; they were a big hit. The really good eggs: she got some Puffs in them. Moms and Dads you're probably familiar with Puffs, a great cereal crunchy food, for babies to eat. Abby loves them. She held a crayon for the first time the other day and drew a line...I gave her an orange one...my favorite color. We hung it on our refrigerator. MMMMM! It was a pretty straight line. Constipation and a 1 year old is more dramatic than when she's an infant. OH MY.

Getting Ready For Easter

Getting ready for all the Easter Colors.

I painted eggs the other night while Abs watched all though she liked putting her hands in the colors of paint. She sat on the Easter Bunny's lap for the first time, she was a little scared but she was a trooper. I told her to tell the Easter Bunny to bring Mommy chocolate eggs. I'm sure he'll listen to her. Have a wonderful Easter with your family.Mommy Poems keep coming in. This one's from a loyal listener Lee!Thanks Lee----ENJOY!

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang myfirst painting on the refrigerator, and I immediatelywanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed astray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kindto animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make myfavorite cake for me and I learned that the littlethings can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say aprayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talkto and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make ameal and take it to a friend who was sick, and Ilearned that we all have to help take ! care of each
other.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give ofyour time and money to help people who had nothingand I learned that those who have something shouldgive to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take
care of our house and everyone in it and I learnedwe have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how youhandled your responsibilities, even when you didn'tfeel good and I learned that I would have to be
responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears comefrom your eyes and I learned that sometimes thingshurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that youcared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most oflife's lessons that I need to know to be a good andproductive person when I grow up.

When you ! thought I wasn't looking, I looked at youandwanted to say, "Thanks for all the things I saw whenyou thought I wasn't looking."
