Little Ears & Daycare

There's something so cute about little kids running around the beach. But I don't think I thought it was so cute the way I do now with a little one. Abs just loves the beach. This year there is no fear of the water. And it's like she doesn't even feel the chill in the water. Crazy. Ahh I love seeing the beach through my daughter's eyes.

A little story to tell you about. It happened last week while eating dinner. Ross asked Abby about her day and was fooling with her and she looked at him and said, "Shup Up." We knew what she was trying to say...cute the way she said it. But wow, we couldn't believe it. We were stunned. We realize she is going to hear alot worse. She could have picked that up anywhere.

The next day our daycare calls us and appologizes to us about how a little girl in Abs class was saying it to the teachers all day the day before. I thought wow, that's pretty cool, without even mentioning it to the school they called us. Daycare teachers and care takers for our children are so under-rated and under paid. They have a tough job and hardly ever get thanked for taking care of our precious loves. So I want to take this time with the Abby blog and say, "Thank You for everything you do for my child and the fun she has there while Mommy and Daddy are at work."

New in Abby's life....she chases birds, says "oooooh buggies," bubbles and bubbles and more bubbles, "Please."

Potty Progress

It was a big day in our house the other night....

Guess What! We've been working with Abs a little bit with the potty thing. She's ok with the number 2--she just doesn't want to sit in it probably. But when it came to number 1: NO WAY. But it finally happened, I said, "Abs come on let's go potty before bed like every other night." But this time I said, " How about a surprise for Abby if you go pee pees!"..So she gets up on her step stool, sits on potty and says back to me,"Ok Momma I'll pee pees!" Yes! I couldn't believe it!

We go through this all the time...an hour on the potty reading her books. Then this time all of sudden within 1 minute, I heard it! What a great sound! Yea Abs!

And the surprise was just one of her toys we put away a while ago because quite frankly she doesn't remember them. Too many toys. There are toys she didn't play with for a while so we just put them away in a bag and now they're big surprises for her. This means our little wonder is growing up....I think this makes Momma sad. It just is going so fast. Every night when we put her to bed I think to myself...One more day closer to 3.

2 is a tough little monster time with lots of no's and crying for no reason, but she's so smart. She knows how to work us. When we say, "Abs", she turns to us now and says, "WHAT?" Crazy little thing. I do find that when I have a sore finger or something she kisses it or hugs it.

At the same time of that 2 year old chaos she's a loving, caring and a very kissable kid. In her prayers at night she says thanks for mommy, daddy, T T (our dog) and for her dolly Dotty.

ADORABLE .....I'd love to just video tape her for 1 hour and share the fun she brings into our life and our family!

...and gets a new tree swing!

You know you're a grown-up when......

From Redbook Magazine!

Love this....we're all kids at heart though!

--You have absolutely no problem scoring a dress at H & M and passing it off as D & G.

--You also have absolutely no problem plunking down a nice was of cash for a great haircut (because sometimes, there truly is no substitute for the real deal.)

--You rediscover the joys of a grilled cheese sandwich.

--YOUR DESIRE IS TO BE THE COOL MOM IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS NOT AS GREAT AS YOUR DESIRE TO BE THE GOOD MOM.

--Despite your utter disdain for campfire-cooked dinners and bug spray, you agree to spend the next three-day weekend camping with your husband, simply because it would make him happy.

--The cashier at the drugstore was totally rude to you and--in the most, cool, calm, and collected way possible--you let her know it.

--You realize that lounging, reading, chatting, listening to your ipod (or 92.7 WOBM...I added that one), and yes, swimming in a swimsuit are much better uses of your time than worryig about how you look in one.

Discovering Barney

We have a new addiction in our house. Abby has found out about that PURPLE BARNEY. Ross brought home all these VCR tapes from a friend from work and now she loves it loves it loves it. Morning, noon and night. "Barney please!"

Now I finally understand when friends say, "Isn't she into Barney...just wait the addiction will begin." She's also into a new fun thing: Play Dough. We have such a good time playing with that. Everytime I open the can up, it takes me back to my childhood. That smell, the smell of playdough, I loved it.

Mother's Day was fun, we spent the day at Six Flags Great Adventure. They have fun kid ride areas and of course that Wiggles Area with all the little kids dancing around. Adorable

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Bloggers! Abby's doing something a little weird lately. I wrote previously in Abs blogs about her pooping on the potty. Now she's walking into little areas and hiding and pooping...Very mysterious. She'll get it eventually I guess. Oh boy, when Abs is 12 I'll let her read these blogs and she's going to be so mad at me.

Last year for Mother's Day it was very special because Daddy and Abby made me a thumb print out of Play-Doh and put a heart around it. I have it hanging up. Abby's little thumb is bigger now...MMMMMM maybe every year a thumb print. I'll take it.

Since being a Mom and having little Abs ----- I've found out I want to be a better person because of her, I never knew how addicted to a smile and hug I could be, and that ice-pops are a way of life.

Happy Mother's Day! Mom's thank you all for you love and hugs!
