What is it about a man and his daughter?

With Father's Day this past weekend and Grandpa and Poppy and Daddy with Abs everything tasted better this weekend.

I love watching my husband with Abby. This tough big man turns into a bowl of mushy pudding when Abby comes running to him with her arms open. And even if she's fresh....he's not the boss. I think men become more attractive watching them with their children. With Ross, I fall in love with him more and more watching him chase her, read a book, sing with her and my favorite: Abby sitting on his foot holding on to his ankle and walks around with her hanging there.

Thank you to all the Dad's...You make life a little bit more special!

Weekend At Hershey Park

We all went to Hershey Park this weekend. My family and Shawn's family. Wow what a great family place. Abs had such a great time. It was a HOT weekend and what is it with kids and heat. Abby didn't care about the heat, she was running around like a nice cool spring day.

She had a couple of her favorite things this weekend - chocolate & horses. And...the merry-go-round! I believe Ross took her on the horses a total of 15 times. Crazy, I know--but at least it was shaded for Daddy.

Finally at about 4:00 in the afternoon she turns to us and says, "It's hot." We thought, "Hey she does feel heat!" Along with the great rides, great food, great water park, and all the laughing with Shawn ---the greatest moment of the weekend came when we were walking to our bus to go back to the lodge when Abs said to us, "Mommy Daddy Thanks for the chocolate FUN." My Heart was happy.

We're going to give you a chance to go to Hershey Park too! Keep listening for the details!

What is it about cousins?

My niece had her 2nd birthday party this weekend and Abby just loves her cousins. They somehow know we're all family. I love watching Abby with kids but when it comes to her cousins, it's different. It's better and I don't know why.

My nephew who is 4 years old takes such good care of Abby. Maybe it's just the feeling of watching my parents and my aunt and uncle and joy in their eyes with "their" kids. My parent's friends have had grandchildren for a while now and I think my parents thought they would never have any. My brother and his wife and Ross and I waited a while to have children but now it's such a joy. They become young and spry again. I love it.

New words for little Abs...."big truck," "what's that noise," (she always asks about noises) "chocolate, chocolate" and when we say, "Where's abby"-- and usually she's standing right next to us--- she'll say, "right there" and point to herself..how cute instead of right here...right there!
